Ben is a Marketing Director at Google in London where he oversees Google's Brand Marketing and leads Google's Brand Studio team in EMEA. His background is as an account planner in creative agencies, including DDB London, BBH London & BBH NYC. While at the latter he co-founded BBH Labs, in 2009, conceived to be the speedboat in front of the supertanker. He joined Google in 2010, initially as part of the Creative Lab, helping to launch Chrome globally and work on internal Google projects with product teams and the Google [x] team. He went on to run and expand Google’s Ads Marketing innovation team, ‘Art, Copy & Code’.
Prior to stumbling across advertising - quite literally the first box file he pulled out in the careers office - Ben was in academia, and completed a PhD in social psychology on nightlife in London, published as a book in 1999: “Clubbing: Dancing, Ecstasy, Vitality”. His interests include military history, space exploration, sailing, polar exploration, modern dance, old vinyl, cats (but not dogs), the Internet and stripes. He lives in London.
