Apparently you're not supposed to make a real movie straight out of a screenwriting and filmmaking school in Madrid. Unless you are 50, you're too young. I started writing and shooting for others in Shanghai, and now here I am in NYC trying to do the same. Would I rather be living a bohemian hipster lifestyle in a run down studio apartment in Madrid writing and shooting an experimental short film about substandard-looking ants while brewing my own wheat beer and giving private poetry readings to my Tinder matches? Nah. I like having work friends too much.
