Martin Sims

Martin started his radio directing career in 1986 as ‘UK Radio Producer’ for the Central Office of Information, directing all of the UK government’s radio commercials. In 1988 he left the COI to join ‘LBC Radio’, then the largest speech radio station in Europe, as ‘Head of Commercial Production’.

At the beginning of 1990 he co-founded Eardrum, the London based radio specialist company. Since 1990 Eardrum London has grown to become the most awarded radio specialist in the UK, winning over 120 national and international awards for creative excellence, including D&AD, London International, New York Festivals, Mobius, and Creative Circle. Martin has also won the ‘Best Radio Director’ award three times at the Aerial Awards.

Martin is a sought after speaker on radio creativity and voice direction and has presented at conferences in South Africa, Fiji, Estonia, Sweden, Finland and Poland amongst others.

He is also the Managing Director of Earache Voices, one of the most respected voice over agencies in the UK, working with many stars of stage and screen to help them develop their voice over careers.
