Charley Xia's works have been recognized in various international competitions, including D&AD, Pentawards, CLIO, ADC, One Show, LIA, Award Awards, Cresta awards, EPICA Awards, AD Stars Award, Red dot, IF, MUSE, among others. He has won 2 Wood Pencils and 2 Merits at D&AD; 1 Silver Award globally at CLIO; 1 Gold and 2 Bronze Awards at Pentawards; 4 global finalists at One Show; 1 Gold Award at Cresta awards; 1 Silver and 1 Bronze at EPICA Awards; 1 Silver and 1 Bronze Pencil at Award Awards; 7 ADC Cube Award finalists; 2 LIA finalists; 1 DFA Bronze Award; 1 Silver and 3 Bronze, as well as 5 Crystal Awards at AD Stars Award; Platinum, Gold, and Silver Awards at MUSE Design Awards; IF Design Award; Red Dot Design Award, and other internationally renowned design awards. He has served as an international juror for ONE SHOW Asia, a final juror for the 4A Creative Awards, and a final juror for the Longxi Creative Awards. He has been invited to serve as a juror for the SGDA Scholarship at three major art academies: Tsinghua University Academy of Arts and Design, China Central Academy of Fine Arts, and Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts.
Charley Xia possesses unique global knowledge and local insights, and he passionately serves the creative industry. In 2023, he was invited by UNESCO as an artist to participate in the "Manifesto" exhibition, and his work was exhibited and collected by the Louvre. In 2021, he ranked 5th on Campaign Brief Asia's list of China's Best Creative Companies, and his representative works "Lion Dance Hill" and "ISDIN Annual Gift" were included that year. In 2023, he ranked 31st on Campaign Brief Asia's Art Directors list. He has been interviewed by Arts & Design and was one of the interviewees for GDC's "40 Years of Graphic Design in China". He is the recipient of the D&AD Pencil Award in the Design Integration category for Art Direction, the only Pencil Award winner globally for D&AD in 2023 and the only one ever from China. He is the chief designer of the logos for the three landmark buildings "IFC, ICC, Hengqin Port Square" in China's Qin-Ao region; the chief designer of the logo and main visual identity for Beijing International Design Week and Zhuhai International Design Week from 2018 to 2020; and one of the interviewees for "Arts and Design". He won the highest honor, the Jury Special Award - Platinum Award, at the 2024 Houston International Film Festival in the USA.
He emphasizes that "concept, creativity, and aesthetics" are the directions he has been studying for a long time. He is skilled at using creative thinking to bridge the gap between art and commerce, emphasizing the effective integration of art into daily life through commercial design. He is committed to using creative thinking to combine brand image design, product ID design, packaging design, advertising design, installation design, spatial design, digital multimedia design, and other fields to find the most direct, effective, and human-centric communication, making design full of kindness. He effectively helps clients increase business volume and creates bespoke cases with market impact for them. His clients include Huawei, China Resources, CITIC, China Merchants, Ping An, Tencent, Alibaba, Huafa, Vanke, Times China, Tongchuang, Jianlibao, ISDIN, lululemon, and other well-known domestic and international brands. He has been invited to curate exhibitions and engage in academic exchanges in Paris, London, New York, Washington D.C., Los Angeles, Milan, Barcelona, Tokyo, Seoul, Hong Kong, Macao, and other places.
