Zoë is a Creative, Brand and Design Consultant currently working in Eora/Sydney.
Previously, Zoë was the director and co-founder of one of Australia’s most respected design and brand communication agencies specialising in luxury and lifestyle sectors. A keen design advocate with over 30 years of experience at the forefront of branding, design and art direction, Zoë is most inspired when collaborating with others to create beauty and inspire change.
Prior to launching Eskimo with business partner Natasha Hasemer in 1998, Zoë studied Visual Communication at UTS, Sydney and St Martins in London, which lead to an early career as Art Director on teen music magazine Smash Hits and a stint at the highly acclaimed Inside Sport Magazine. This was followed by a 6-year tenure ship with Condé Nast at Vogue Australia.
As director of Eskimo, Zoë established a world-class business based on a dynamic combination of creative ideas, strategic thinking, good design and a belief that beauty can be found everywhere. A genuine desire to always achieve what’s best for her clients has lead to an exceptional list of creative projects for the likes of Vogue Australia, Australian Style Magazine, Oroton, SABA, Country Road, Westfield, Mirvac, QIC and AMP Capital Shopping Centres.
Zoë’s experience in design and creative consultancy and long time passion for the arts has lead her to board positions on both Onextra Dance Company and Reedlance International Dance on Screen Festival. In 2010 Zoë founded and produced ‘Design in Motion’ an event to hero the genre of design on screen in Australia,
Zoë obsesses over purity of form and considered design, as much as she enjoys giving back to the creative community. She sat on the council for the Australian Graphic Design Association (AGDA), and is currently on the committee for the Jewellers and Metalsmiths Association of Australia (JMGA) to help advance contemporary jewellery in Australia. Zoë has spoken at major creative conferences, participated in exhibitions, judged multiple creative awards and won some too.
In 2018 Zoë and Natasha published a book ‘Fall in Love, not in Line’ - a collection of images and out-takes to celebrate 21 years of client work, studio life, and coincide with a sabbatical. Zoë decided to study contemporary jewellery design and is currently developing a jewellery practice (@buro_zoe) along-side her consultancy work.
