  • Lecturer / Course Leader
  • United Kingdom

Matt is an interdisciplinary artist, creative director and educator, sharing important stories via new technologies. Formerly a creative director for the arts and culture sector, he has lectured extensively in the UK and is a practicing artist with work held in private collections in the UK and U.S.

Matt has designed and directed campaigns for clients including Sony Music, Artangel, David Bowie, Working Title Films, Ministry of Sound, The Royal Opera House. In 2005 he was asked to commence a review and complete refresh of ENO's brand and communication strategy. In 2008 he was appointed Creative Director at AKA, where he led a large multi-disciplinary team for ten years, devising and delivering campaigns for global arts and entertainment clients, including: San Fransisco Ballet, St Ann's Warehouse (NY), Sonia Friedman Productions, Young Vic, Donmar Warehouse, and National Theatre.

His research explores the facilitation of a dialogue between ecosystems, with the aim of making the invisible visible, and providing a catalyst for empathetic engagement with urgent stories. Matt is particularly interested in how the absurd and disorientating can heighten questions of meaning in a universe increasingly separate from our conscious experience of it.

He currently teaches at the RCA and University of Kent.
