David Kohn

David Kohn studied architecture at the University of Cambridge and at Columbia University, New York. He established his practice in 2007 and was named UK’s ‘Young Architect of the Year’ in 2009. The practice was awarded the title of UK’s ‘One-Off House Architect of the Year’ in 2010 for a house in rural Norfolk and in 2013, an apartment designed by DKA in Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter, was named ‘World Interior of the Year’ at the Inside Festival in Singapore.
Recent projects include ‘A Room for London,’ a one-room, boat-shaped installation on the roof of the Southbank Centre in collaboration with Turner Prize-nominated artist Fiona Banner, contemporary art galleries for Sotheby’s and Thomas Dane and apartment building designs in West London for Baylight Properties. Alongside practice, David is a Visiting Professor at KULeuven, having previously taught at the Cass, University of Cambridge and the London School of Economics.
