Billy was born in Athens in 1973. His formative years were spent making covers for Scorpions compilation tapes on his bedroom floor, reading comics or walking long distances with his dog. After finishing school, Billy travelled to the UK to study at Camberwell College of Arts, where he met a German student named Frank Philippin. Billy and Frank went on to complete MAs at the Royal College of Art before setting up Brighten the Corners.

Over the years they've worked for numerous clients including the Goethe-Institut, Italian Cultural Institute, Laurence King, Department for Education, Frieze Publishing, and Anish Kapoor. They've won quite a few awards, including a Yellow Pencil at D&AD, Gold Cube at ADC Global, Gold Nail at ADC für Deutschland, and the Grand Prix at Tokyo TDC. Their work was also selected for the Designs of the Year exhibition at the Design Museum in London.
