Garrick Hamm is Creative Partner & filmmaker at London-based, Williams Murray Hamm. WMH specialize in re-inventing or inventing brands.
 
Hamm graduated from the School of Communication Arts in 1989 and immediately joined Michael Peters & Partners. Four years later he left with, Glenn Tutssel to help form Tutssels / Lambie-Nairn where he worked across a variety of design disciplines. Hamm joined Williams and Murray in 1999 to form WMH.
 
Projects Hamm has over seen at WMH include; leading the rebrand of Fortumn & Mason, Barclays Bank, Castrol and Lamb Western. More recently Garrick headed up the brand relaunch of Aberlour Whisky and launch of the rare range of Whisky’s, Secret Speyside.

WMH accolades include D&AD Yellow Pencils, Gold Lions at Cannes, Art Directors, Type Directors and too many Clio’s to count.

WMH was voted 'Agency Of The Year' twice - in 2002 & 2004 (Marketing Magazine)
 
In 2009 Hamm became President of D&AD and in 2013 was chairman of The New York Art Directors Club.
 
Hamm is also an award winning filmmaker. His short film “The Man Who Married Himself” starring Richard E Grant, won the Best Comedy Award at the LA Shorts Festival and was screened at the BFI London Film Festival.

His film, "Retrospective" with Charles Dance and collaborated again with cinematographer Michael Seresin ( Angle Heart, Harry Potter, Gravity) where once again he explored the duality of man.

In 2015 Hamm was voted in the top 20 inspirational designers in the UK.

In 2016 WMH won its second D&AD yellow pencil for the luxury erotica brand Coco de Mar and a Gold DBA Design effectiveness Award, for its relaunch of JuiceBurst.

‘The Ghost’, A short drama based on the true story of a boys search for his father, the legendary Spurs Number 8, John White. It picked up 6 Platinum Awards in Los Angeles 2018. Available on Amazon.

More recently, Hamm was responsible for writing and directing the launch film for AMC, Andy Murray’s sportswear range in collaboration with sports brand Castore.

In 2020 WMH won their 3rd D&AD pencil and Best of Show at the Drum Awards, for their work on the Afghanistan Women’s Orchestra. They also won at the Brand Film Awards for their animation work on the launch of Secret Speyside.

Hamm sits on the Advisory Panel for Brunel University. And as a past D&AD Chairmen of Education for 3 years, feels its his duty to help the new graduates into the Creative Industry.
