Tom Punch

Tom Punch is VICE Media’s Chief Creative & Commercial Officer. He oversees all aspects of creative operations across the youth media company’s expansive ecosystem & leads commercial content and operations across VICE’s 12 owned and operated digital channels, television network, and mobile offerings. Punch has led teams in developing 8 new online platforms, a range of award winning content formats, experiential programs, and large scale brand partnerships. He works at the intersection of creative and commerce, generating new IP & leading the company’s global commercial growth. Since joining in 2012, the company’s valuation has grown over 5X.
Punch also serves as Global Chief Creative Officer of VIRTUE. He has led its evolution from VICE’s in house branded content offering to an independently run agency with 25 offices around the world and a diverse client portfolio including AB InBev, Unilever, Samsung, YouTube, Bacardi, and AirBnB. He also founded and built a brand production studio (VICE+ Productions) that produces everything from commercials to documentaries, scripted, animation, VR, experiential and interactive. This work has been recognized by Cannes Lions, One Show, Clios, Promax, Webbies, and more.
Punch has channeled two of his passions into projects over the past year, as he developed a feature film project “Judy & Punch” that shoots in 2018 and created and launched a new beer in partnership with AB InBev, “Old Blue Last,” so called after its namesake pub in London owned by VICE Media.
As VICE has pushed more into social impact spaces, Punch has also driven a number of the companies pro social efforts, leading the development of VICE’s Impact channel, and partnering with Al Gore for climate change, the Gates Foundation and the UN around the Global Goals. He also created the Shopathon campaign & Jimmy Kimmel TV special with (RED) that has helped raise close to 100MM for AIDS treatment in Africa.
Before joining Vice, Punch worked in film, events and TV production, and held advertising roles at WPP and Mother.
