Despite the name on my birth certificate showing Marco Aurelio Giannelli, I am better known as Pernil.

Yes, my parents chose a name of a Roman emperor and I ended up succumbing to a nickname that can be translated as "Jamón" in Spanish.

I started my career as a copywriter and today I am the CCO of AlmapBBDO.

I have been through networks such as Ogilvy, FCB, TBWA, and Leo Burnett before arriving at BBDO in 2008, where I had the privilege of working with people like Marcello Serpa and Luiz Sanches, and for clients including Volkswagen, Pepsi, Visa, Mars, Getty Images, PepsiCo, Global Compact, Havaianas, O Boticário, Bradesco Seguros, and Gol Linhas Aéreas.

Alongside these clients and with a good amount of luck, I managed to win 99 Cannes Lions (including 2 Grand Prix), 38 awards at D&AD (2 Yellow Pencils in 2024), and many international recognitions from the One Show, LIA, Clio Awards, El Ojo, Fiap, and Effie Awards. I was part of the agency when we were named Agency of the Year at Cannes in 2010, 2011, and 2016, and most recently, the Agency of the Decade in 2020.

Since 2022, I have been the Chief Creative Officer of the agency, with the enormous responsibility of carrying forward the creative legacy and keeping AlmapBBDO on top. And, despite all the changes and challenges in the market, I remain passionate about advertising (besides my dachshund named Sausage).
