Upon graduating from Northumbria University in BA (Hons) Advertising & Graphic Design and following a period employed as an Art Director for several London agencies; Lowe Howard-Spink / Horseman Cooke, The Unknown Partnership & D4, working on accounts for Boots, M&S, James Capel, Financial Times, Britvic, JPS, Virgin, Mappin & Webb, Beggars Banquet and Phonogram, designing brand identities for City Beat, Global Village and XL Recordings. After completing the MA Communication Design Programme at Manchester Metropolitan University, Christopher worked as a lecturer at Liverpool John Moores University before accepting a full-time post at The University of Salford. In 1998 He was elected chairman of the Chartered Society of Designers. He wrote the BA (Hons) Advertising programme prior to accepting Programme Leadership. The programme received consistent successes at YCN, Roses, DADI, Creative Pioneers and D&AD - winning Yellow Pencils across a range of categories from 2006 - 2013 including: Viral, Integrated, Online and Open Advertising, Applied Graphic Design, Illustration and Copywriting. His current research projects involve the history of outdoor (billboard) advertising. He is a member of D&AD, The IPA and The CSD. In August Christopher accepted the post of Senior Lecturer in Advertising & Communication and Course Leadership of the BA (Hons) Advertising programme at Southampton Solent University.
