Pan Yanrong’s design language fuses the traditional and the contemporary in an exemplary manner. On the one hand, he pays attention to the traditional Chinese materials and techniques which had been neglected through time, and introduces into his own design processes, book binding techniques, and paper manipulations. On the other hand, he infuses professional experiences into contemporary layout design disciplines, printing techniques, material production, etc. His book design showcases the beauty of Chinese language and culture.

He served as a judge for the 100th New York ADC, GDC, the Most Beautiful Book in China, Award 360, and his works were exhibited at museums in Berlin, Essen, Milan, Luzern, New York, Tokyo, Hong Kong and Macao.
