DJ and electronic musician turned composer, Guy Amitai specializes in writing original music scores and creating cinematic sound for TV, film and VR/Interactive projects. Based in Los Angeles, Amitai began his musical career in London in 1996. He has used a number of different pseudonyms and band names, and released music in different styles on several record labels.
Amitai has been running under his own production label “Pivot” since 2008, working with some of the world’s leading directors, production companies and agencies to create an array of award-winning music. He received awards for both music composition and sound design, including ADC ‘Best Music’, D&AD ‘Sound Design’, Promax, Cannes Lions, has been shortlisted for a Clio, and has designed music for events like the opening ceremony of the 2008 Olympics in Beijing and the US Super Bowl. Amitai moved in 2015 to Los Angeles to open Pivot Audio’s first US office.
Amitai has an undergraduate B.A. in Composition and Solonolgy from the Royal Dutch Conservatory of Music in Den Haag, NL and a Master of Arts in Advanced Studies in Performance Arts from the Das Arts Academy, Amsterdam NL.
