Matt Noonan

Matt Noonan is the Managing Partner of Curious, the company he established in 1999 with business partner Darryl Ward.
After two decades of production experience across multiple formats including feature films and commercials, Matt quickly established Curious’ reputation as one of the largest, most creative and innovative commercial production companies in the region. Matt began in production in a variety of roles, including in 1986, working as assistant editor to Jamie Selkirk on director Peter Jackson’s first ever film, Bad Taste.
Matt has produced work for NZSO, Orcon & NZTA that has been recognized at D&AD as well as multiple awards for commercial work at home and internationally. Short films produced by Matt have gone on to screen at Cannes, Venice and Sundance film festivals. He produced the feature films DESERT and FANTAIL, which screened at Rotterdam IFF in 2014. Matt is Executive Producer on two features currently in and has several projects in varying stages of development including Rick Charnoski’s debut feature WARM BLOOD.
Matt currently sits on the Executive Board of SPADA (Screen Production and Development Association NZ) and is on the Executive Committee of NZAPG (NZ Advertising Producers Group).
