With a background in big screen entertainment Carl started his career as an award winning writer and film director with Oscar Shortlisted The Cutter, documentaries for the BBC and cult classic feature film Blue Juice, still playing at cliff top drive-ins when the surf’s up and the sun's out. Whether swimming with sharks, winning Lions or pouring Chianti for Matthew Goode, Carl knows how to get an audience’s attention.
Trained in LA as a screenwriter, in London as an art director and as a wine expert at The Cafe Royal, he’s had a successful career in film and TV as well as directing some award winning commercials, characterized by believable performances and an open emotional style. Probably the reason Variety magazine described his films as “utterly charming and unabashedly offbeat.”
