Micaela Alcaino is a book cover designer and illustrator who relocated from her home Sydney, Australia to London, UK in 2013. Selected as one of The Booksellers Rising Stars of 2021 she has almost a decade of experience in her field working for both Penguin Random House and HarperCollins, then venturing to freelance in 2018. She currently works on projects in collaboration with most of the big publishing houses worldwide. Some of her recent achievements include winning the Books Are My Bag Beautiful Book Award 2019 for The Binding by Bridget Collins and the ABCD Young Adult Book Cover Award 2021 for Raybearer by Jordan Ifueko. She has designed and illustrated titles such as Ariadne by Jennifer Saint, the Ember in the Ashes series by Sabaa Tahir, Careless by Kirsty Capes, and Pandora by Susan Stokes-Chapman.
