Michelle Dougherty is an Emmy winning creative director, designer, and live-action director at Imaginary Forces. Her portfolio spans advertising, film, broadcast and branding but she is best known for her TV show title sequences which include Stranger Things, Marvel’s Jessica Jones, Vinyl, Black Sails, Boardwalk Empire and Band of Brothers. In 2016 she directed the Emmy-winning feature documentary, Sonic Sea, in response to the mounting threat of ocean noise on marine mammals.
A graduate of the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, Michelle’s work has been showcased at many locations including the Hammer Museum, Walker Art Center, and the Cooper-Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum. Michelle’s tactile approach to storytelling has been recognized by the AIGA and featured in publications such as Time Magazine, Vox Media, Communication Arts, IdN, and Creativity.
