Zoe McIntosh is a commercials and film director. She can sniff out sub-cultures a mile away and tell their stories with compassion, creativity and a fine sense of humour. Zoe is most inspired when she feels like an outsider in an environment that’s entirely unfamiliar and her work tackles subjects as diverse as equal pay, gangsters, friendship, idiosyncratic barristers, and poverty in New Zealand. She recently won first prize for the Young Director Award at Cannes Lions and her doco, Lost in Wonderland, won the Qantas award for Best Popular Documentary. Her short films have been in competition at prestigious festivals, including Tribeca and Clermont Ferrands.
