After abandoning a frankly unpromising legal career, Hilary got her first copywriting job fifteen years ago. Pausing only to have a family, she is now at Clemenger BBDO Melbourne, proudly flying the flag for senior women in creative industries.
As well as writing for advertising, Hilary is a best-selling children’s author. Her titles include the middle-grade Zac Power books, which have been translated into multiple languages including, most recently, Finnish. She has toured schools and writers’ festivals extensively, where she has been hugged quite a lot by young readers.
In 2014, Hilary published a Young Adult novel called State of Grace. A US publisher acquired the novel and it was released there in 2015. Hilary is now working on her next Young Adult novel, which should be finished some time in the next hundred years.
