Sylvia Borges discovered her love for storytelling at the theatre, where she initially worked as an assistant director and stage manager. She learned how to work with actors and developed original plays with teenagers. After three years behind the stage she started a long journey through Europe and walked over 4,500 miles. It wasn’t a journey to a certain place but to the people. She learned to observe, to ask the right questions and to listen.
2014, Sylvia graduated from the ‘Academy of Media Arts’ (KHM) in Cologne, Germany, where she studied film. Since then she has worked as a freelance director, writer and producer for TV and advertising. Her short films are known as crowd favorites and were awarded with more than 50 international prizes, as well as numerous nominations.
