Marcos Zotes is an architect, multimedia artist and exhibition designer with output ranging from buildings and public spaces to exhibitions, installations and public art interventions. Marcos is a Partner at Basalt Architects, an architecture studio based in Reykjavik with award winning projects such as The Retreat at Blue Lagoon, Lava Centre and Geosea geothermal sea baths. Additionally, Marcos is the founder of UNSTABLE, a multidisciplinary design and research laboratory that explores the boundaries of art and architecture. His work has been exhibited at the 13th Venice Architecture Biennale, The Polytechnic Museum of Moscow, Storefront for Art and Architecture in New York, Nuit Blanche Toronto, Roskilde Festival, Dlectricity in Detroit and Hafnarborg Museum in Iceland among others.
Marcos holds a Master of Science in Advanced Architectural Design form Columbia University in New York and a Professional Diploma in Architecture from London Metropolitan University.
