Works both in academia and industry, as a graphic/UX designer, associate professor at the SUAD China, and part-time translator, Xiaojuan has over 20 years of experience teaching while running a micro-studio in her name, locally and globally collaborating with peers. She also worked at the Northeastern University Boston as a visiting researcher, the Royal College of Art and the Victoria and Albert Museum as a visiting lecturer for one year, gave talks and exhibited her works nationally and globally, in China, USA, UK, Czech Republic, Korea, Peru etc.
Her work focuses on Graphic Design, Branding and Identity, Type Design, Illustration, User Experience Design and Product Development for startups, while the studio also does bespoke artwork as well as curating exhibitions, mainly but not limited to the art and design field. Her clients include of the AIGA, China CPLASF, Appropriate Software Foundation London, Beijing University Press, China Yuwen Newspapers And Periodicals Association, SinoSat etc.
