Itu completed his Bachelor's degree in architecture from the School of Planning and Architecture, Delhi in the year 1984, then decided to pursue design in an interdisciplinary way, but eventually concentrated on graphic design, via a long-standing fascination with lettering and typography. He also experimented with television, and a technology enabled news graphics syndication service among several adventures.
In 1996 he founded his graphic design studio ICD (Itu Chaudhuri Design) which he runs along with his partner Lisa Rath. ICD helps businesses through design and strategy, and has a large body of work in branding, packaging, communication and UI,UX. Itu writes and speaks on design and its interface with society, business, civilisation and generally what you would call life.
