Raj Kurup
From age 11, Raj was possessed with the idea of starting his own country.
Twenty years on, in the summer of 2007, he realized his dream and set up Creativeland Asia, the fastest growing independent creative house from India today.
Raj has worked in six countries in Asia and Europe in an advertising career that spans nearly 16 years. At Mudra (DDB), Leo Burnett, Orchard, Lowe and Grey before founding Creativeland Asia. Raj’s office resembles that of a metallurgist’s. With over 280 awards and mentions including D&AD, The One Show, Asia Pacific Adfest, Spikes Asia, Cannes, Abby@Goafest and FAB awards.
His work has been awarded five Grand Prix’s and has made Creativeland Asia the ‘Agency of the Year’ thrice including an ‘Independent Agency of the Year’ at Spikes Asia and Campaign ‘Agency of the Year South Asia’.
His work ‘Pantene Chrysalis’ features as No.1 in Adweek's list of 25 most epic commercials after 1984.
Raj is a believer in young talent. He loves interacting with students and learning from them. He’s been invited to motivate and speak at many institutions, companies and colleges in India and abroad. In fact, he just set up Youngcreative.org, the student arm of Creativeland Asia to promote new talent and give them international exposure.
