BA(Hons) Graphic Design (Visual Communication & Illustration)

Graphic design is about communicating your message effectively to individuals, groups of people, organisations or even whole countries. Today graphic designers work across an ever-increasing range of areas from branding and brochures, exhibitions and displays, posters and packaging, signage and diagrams, publishing, web design, interaction design, motion design, signs, symbols, the list goes on.

On this degree, you will study visual language, image making, ideas development, digital skills, typography, interaction and narrative through a series of modules, which build and develop your craft.

Our comprehensive course provides you with a broad theoretical and practical education in visual communications, with an in-built degree of flexibility to pursue your own interests.

Links with business and industry are an important ingredient of the course and are maintained through visiting speakers from the creative industries, educational visits, 'live' projects and the chance to enter national and international competitions.
