The brief
Netsafe is an independent, non-profit organization, that exists to help keep New Zealanders safer online. One major problem Netsafe were increasingly concerned about was the prolific rise in the number of New Zealanders falling victim to scams. The recorded figure was $10m NZ, but with so many crimes going unreported, the real figure was likely much higher.
Netsafe approached DDB NZ with only limited resources, and a brief to tackle this problem from a fresh perspective. They asked the agency to create an awareness campaign to help alert and educate New Zealander’s on the evolving nature of scams, how to identify these and importantly avoid them.
