Case Study: Live Looper
For BBDO New York, a new band signing with long-time collaborators Downtown Records was an opportunity to test out their in-house studio on an idea that had been simmering for some time.
The brief
The relationship with Downtown records allows BBDO to test out more edgy ideas that they wouldn’t pitch to their large clients. For the Live Looper project, in-house production studio BBDO Studios was mobilised, under the guidance of Pol Hoenderboom, Bart Mol and Mo Twine.
The studio provides BBDO with the ability to demonstrate their up-and-coming talent, and create experimental work. So it was the perfect vehicle for the latest collaboration with Downtown Records’ new band, Irish four-piece The Academic.
The label required a promotion to raise awareness of The Academic’s headline tour, album and gigs opening for The Kooks. The current single ‘Bear Claws’ was chosen as the focal point.
