Havas London asks: When did design become just an afterthought?

“There’s a massive job to be done in advertising,” says Lorenzo Fruzza, Chief Design Officer at creative agency Havas London, when discussing how to elevate the role of design again. “So much of this stuff is about recognising what we’ve got and wrapping it in the right way.”

Speaking at D&AD Festival, in a talk Long Live the Chief Design Officer — Putting the design jewel back into the agency crown, Fruzza, along with Havas London’s Chief Creative Officer, Vicki Maguire says that creative teams “were instrumental in devaluing what we thought design could bring."
