A vibrant collection of vignettes portray diverse cultural traditions and characters across Kenya. From the rich hues of a wedding to the soulful resonance of a cello player, and the timeless traditions of a Maasai tribe, each frame is a nuanced character study. The film intricately weaves together the threads of individual stories around the central marriage tradition, creating a vivid mosaic that celebrates the depth and diversity of African cultures.

What did the judges have to say?
At the heart of things, direction is all about making choices. And with this film there were about 500 choices on display that most people would not have made. And yet, they weren't self-indulgent or self-interested choices; they were imaginative, unexpected, intriguing and ultimately inspiring. Every single one of them. And for me, that's what made this such an original piece of direction – when a story is told in a fresh way, and yet it communicates, takes you somewhere new and leaves you feeling moved.
