The Toledo Museum of Art (TMA) had a clear request: transform its identity while honoring its legacy. We answered with an innovative rebrand, including strategy and a holistic design system, based on the platform: The transformative power of art for all of Toledo. The redesign spanned from on-campus to online. All elements are inspired by transformation, with a dynamic logo system, adaptive color palette, and symbolism recalling pride for the community and Toledo’s history as “The Glass City.” The logo portrays the continual reframing of art history and evokes the dynamism of emerging futures.
