Due to South Africa's Apartheid era, the history of black academics overcoming oppression to find their success has been purposefully left undocumented, and 30 years after democracy – forgotten.
Who was South Africa's first graduate of colour?
A question unanswerable for so many students of colour plagued by lack of academic self-belief.
South Africa's Graduate Professional Insurer PPS, set out to write these academics back into history through a 20 month collaboration between historians, actuaries and analysts to uncover the past and impact the belief of our countries future learners.
