Art & Project – A History
Graphite Pencil / Book Design / Exhibition / 2024
The Amsterdam gallery Art & Project (1968–1998) was a focal point in the development of contemporary art in the Netherlands and far beyond. To draw attention to their exhibitions, the gallery published a total of 156 (numbered) bulletins which soon became an experimental medium and sometimes a conceptual work of art in its own. The book traces the history and influence of the gallery. It approaches the exhibitions, the bulletins, the gallery’s network and its influence in the (inter)national art world from different angles. The design is based on the idea of numbering and cross-referencing.
