“The Turn of Meaning” is an installation created for the 9th Shenzhen Biennale of Urbanism\Architecture. We use road signs as the primary visual element, extract and extend the common forms of generic signs while incorporating the shapes of digital accessory molds discovered in the venue. Folding the 2D road signs to 3D forms, we distort their inherent meanings and blur the boundaries between information and images. The metamorphosed signs carry both familiar and enigmatic connotations, infiltrating open spaces as non-functional road sign installations within the urban landscape.
