The Future is Black

In Brazil, 56% of people are Black, but the population has never been properly represented by the country’s media. Raça Magazine was created in 1996 as the leading Afro publication in Latin America. To celebrate its 25th anniversary, FCB Brasil was inspired by an artistic, cultural, and political movement that, like Raça, was ahead of its time: Afrofuturism. With the concept The Future is Black, the team referenced the colours, symbols, and wisdom of Africa in the new design system, setting Raça up for the next 25 years.
