Five Days at Memorial focuses on the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Cut off from rescue by flood waters, doctors trapped in a hospital are forced to make critical and moral decisions about which patients live, and which ones are to die, euthanising desperate patients in a desperate situation. The title sequence illustrates a flooded river breaking its banks, followed by rich, intense colours and violent effects that act as the visual metaphor for the patients as they are euthanised.
