The Royal Court premieres groundbreaking new plays and has helped to launch the careers of the UK’s foremost playwrights. The theatre actively seeks out and nurtures new and emerging voices and is known as The Writers’ Theatre. This inspired the copy-based approach to the poster campaign publicising a new season of plays at the Royal Court Theatre.
What did the judges have to say?
Recognition for an ongoing campaign where writing and design work together exceptionally well. The graphic system creates room for a single line that captures something intriguing about the play: smartly written, but always accessible and non-highbrow. The supporting copy skilfully does its job and no word or element on each poster is superfluous. Low-budget, high-level work.
