Until recently, font design has been a monochrome design practice. Colour fonts were adapted into the OpenType standard in 2014, which opened up new possibilities. F37 had a hunch that a subtle and careful balance between colour and texture within a font could achieve a more genuine texture in the letterforms. The foundry added more than 450 lines of OpenType feature code to ensure no two letters near each other have the same text. F37 Press is the first letterpress font with an authentic texture using colour font technology.
