Women are being sentenced to prison in Egypt for defaulting on loans of a few hundred dollars. Breakchains with Blockchain frees women from these prison sentences. It takes a trend everyone is talking about, NFTs, and uses it in an unprecedented way, raising awareness about a topic no one cares about: Al Gharemaat. The idea gives NFTs a human value, and every piece sold frees a woman from her prison sentence. The campaign has inspired real change, culminating in 60 parliament members signing a bill committing to changing the law, giving hope to thousands of women.
