Morning After Island is the story of how a scrappy activist group used applied creativity to transcend national borders and spur a global movement that’s powerful enough to provide a solution for millions of women. The morning after pill is illegal in Honduras, giving no options to the one out of every four girls who will become pregnant before turning 18. The insight: if people’s rights are denied in their own homeland, there’s only one possible choice – to leave the country. Excell Publicidad y Mercadeo SA de CV built a platform in international waters and used it not only to take the pill, but to ensure women’s voices were heard by the government.
