The music video for Woodkid’s Reactor plays like a duet between organic forces and burgeoning machinery. Set many years in the future inside a volcanic megastructure, Reactor personifies the call of nature, narrating a struggling relationship between an otherworldly landscape and the humans who consume its resources. The song is inspired by the films made in the golden age of 90s Japanese animation. The idea was to create hyper-realistic, cinematic CGI that feels organic and painterly at the same time.
