Charlie Chaplin’s 133rd birthday, which would have been on 16th April 2022, came after two years of great loss and grief, where humankind had begun to lose belief. While the Charlie Chaplin Museum Foundation had celebrated Charlie’s life, films, and craft on numerous occasions, he had something much greater to offer to the world at this time – resilience. The agency came up with A Silent Frown, a book made up of line-art illustrations on transparent pages. Each depicted a gruelling chapter from Chaplin’s life, and when the pages stacks together, the drawings come together to form Charlie’s face.
