Find Your Own Story follows a young girl’s journey to self-realisation by depicting the fantasy world that is her mental landscape in a realistic and visceral way. The film takes place in a typical Japanese school, where its heroine runs against the wind down a long, undulating hallway. She hesitates briefly before bursting out into a flower-filled courtyard where the headwind she had been facing becomes a tailwind, which drives her forward to join her best friend on the school auditorium stage. The two then join hands before running through a crowd of classmates and into the sunny world outside.

"Not just because they came up with an execution that is very fresh and unique. Not just because all the effects are on-cam. Not just because it’s damn difficult. Not just because it turns out fucking beautiful. It’s also because the brief didn’t require it. The idea can still run with a simpler execution. But they still did it. That’s love for craft."
