The New York Times - The Truth Takes a Journalist
Graphite Pencil / Art Direction / Film / 2022
Wood Pencil / Editing / Film
The Truth Takes a Journalist is a film that takes the word ‘by’, which is found in every piece of journalism in The New York Times, and gives it dimension. It celebrates the 1,700 unique people behind the newspaper's reporting, bringing audiences closer to the journalists and showing how that humanity gives its journalism greater depth, richness and colour. Each scene gives a glimpse into the person behind the byline, using archival footage shot by journalists and sound bites woven in. Together it depicts the complex, hopeful, turbulent and rewarding relationship each journalist has with their journalism.
