Cure The Care System
Shortlist / Direction / Film / 2022
The NHS doesn’t cover care for dementia patients. Instead, their well-being is left in the hands of family and friends, who are placed under immense strain. Cure the Care System told the story of the lives that are claimed – not by the disease, but by the broken care system. Released in cinemas, on TV and online, the campaign raised 140,000 petition signatures in two weeks and brought 30,000 new campaigners onto the Alzheimer’s Society team. Most importantly it was debated in parliament, and supported by cabinet members of all major parties, including the Prime Minister.
