The campaign Independent Journalism for an Independent Life showed how what you read can inspire who you are. One film painted a portrait of a New York Times subscriber, Vera, through headlines, using journalistic imagery, typographic sound design, and footage that fills the screen with life. The story weaved together her interests and her reading history into a rhythmic prose supported by the voice of Vera herself, which brought viewers into her world. Just like her life, the film has many layers, meaning and idiosyncrasies, revealing the breadth of the journalism published by the New York Times and how it impacts the lives of its readers.
