Allford Hall Monaghan Morris celebrated 30 years of architectural practice by publishing a full inventory of works. The editorial strategy takes a firmly democratic approach, allotting one image and spread per project, regardless of scale, age or prominence. The form of the book picks up the same principle, allowing the index to cover the binding cloth, using years instead of page numbers and adding thumb tags to locate them. Beyond being way finders, these notches act as a form of instant information design – their positions clearly communicate ebbs and flows of work over the 30-year span.
