Just a Wall
Yellow Pencil / Spatial Design / Installations / 2021
In France, a child dies every five days, beaten to death by a relative. 60% of people who suspect child abuse do nothing about it. This is often the case with neighbours, who are often the first to witness the violence. To illustrate that the worst can happen just a few centimetres away from any of us and to urge people to call 119, ROSAPARK set out to build copies of the three walls that once separated three murdered children from their neighbours. The agency set them up in a main square in the centre of Paris.
What did the judges have to say?
"How the designer measured the height of the children, the placements of their belongings for each wall$the process itself is part of the design. – Hsien-Yin Ingrid Chou"
Hsien-Yin Ingrid Chou, Creative Director / Educator, MoMA / Parsons School of Design
