Gentle Mentals

One in four people experiences mental illness. When someone's sick, they might receive a gift to show support. But what about when someone is diagnosed with a mental illness? Many times it provokes an awkward silence – which can make someone feel isolated and even worse. Gentle Mental’s therapy animal plushies lighten this heavy conversation, promote connection, and normalise the topic of mental health. Each has been diagnosed with mental illness, including Bipolar Bear, Schizo Shih Tzu, and Tourettes Turkey, to name a few. They're part of a broader effort including a book and an award-winning short film.
