With the explosion in social networks, smartphones, and media, it has never been easier to shoot and publish photos than in 2021. Over 350 million photos are shared each day on the internet. However this democratisation is bringing a certain neglect and superficiality to the art. In order to restore photography’s noble stature, Leica, the legendary German camera maker, decided to pay homage to the photographers who witness the world in a campaign entitled The World Deserves Witnesses.
